People tell me they relax the moment they walk in because the office is clean, nicely decorated, and aesthetically pleasing. If you’re nervous about your first follow up, that’s normal. Most anxiety comes from not knowing what’s going to happen or if you’ll be told you’re “behind.” A follow up with me at All Pro Rehab is a simple check-in that keeps your progress moving forward.
A follow up appointment is a short visit to review progress, make small adjustments, and decide the next step. It’s not usually a full new workup. I’ll do a brief progress review, quick checks that make sense for your case, a short Q&A, and we’ll talk scheduling so your plan stays realistic. This page lays out exactly what to bring, how long to plan for, and how to make the most of the 55 minutes.
Quick local note: I’m in the Gateway Boulevard office and retail district in west Boynton Beach near I-95. If you’re coming from Delray Beach, Boca Raton, Lake Worth Beach, Lantana, or Hypoluxo, plan a little extra time around Gateway Boulevard traffic so you’re not rushing into your follow up.
Before your follow up appointment: what to bring and what to message me
If you want your follow up to feel smooth, the biggest win is showing up with the right info. I don’t need a novel. I need the pieces that help me connect the dots quickly so we can spend time on progress, not paperwork.
Bring these 5 things
- A current medication list (including supplements if they affect pain, sleep, or energy).
- Any recent test results or medical notes that changed since your last visit.
- A short written list of symptoms and questions. If you forget it at home, your phone notes are fine.
- Relevant devices like orthotics, braces, or a cane, so I can see what’s helping and what isn’t.
- Comfortable clothing that lets me check movement, especially if we’re tracking hip, knee, neck, or low back changes.
Let me know what’s changed since your last visit, even if it seems small. Tell me what movements feel better, what still catches, and what you did at home. People who improve fastest usually do two things: they show up consistently and they do the “homework” between sessions. I’ll keep it realistic, but I will be honest about what’s needed.
Here’s what actually happens during a 55-minute follow up at All Pro Rehab
A follow up is a check-in that keeps your plan accurate. I’ll start by asking what you noticed since the last visit. Sometimes it’s pain levels. Sometimes it’s sleep, like the client who told me they were finally sleeping all night again after a few weeks of personal supervision. Those details matter because they point to what’s working.
Step 1: Quick progress review and a few focused checks
I’m usually looking at movement quality, strength changes, and the patterns that set symptoms off. This is not me “guessing.” People often mention I can quickly assess areas of concern and put a plan together that makes sense. If vitals or mobility checks are relevant, we’ll do them. If they’re not, we won’t waste your time.
Step 2: Hands-on work and exercise progressions
Depending on what you’re here for, I may use a mix of manual techniques and exercise progressions. A lot of people come in asking for “massage therapy near me” because they’re tight and sore. Sometimes massage is part of the picture, but my goal in physical therapy is to build the strength and control that keeps the pain from boomeranging back. I’ll explain what we’re doing and why, in plain language.
One detail people notice right away: I do one-to-one therapy, so you’re not wondering if I’m watching three patients at once. I’m focused on you the whole time you’re here.
Step 3: The “homework” plan and next steps
Before you leave, I’ll tighten up the plan and make sure you know what to do between sessions. This is where progress sticks. People regularly mention that I send them home with proper exercises to do in between and that they feel more confident because the plan is clear.
“I felt/feel very confident I am in good hands - and this was only after week 1!”

After your follow up: what you’ll feel, and how to keep the momentum
Right after a follow up, it’s common to feel worked, especially if we progressed exercises or did hands-on techniques. Some people feel looser immediately. Others notice the change the next morning. If you’re doing sports and conditioning or returning to the gym, I’ll usually give you a clear “do this, pause that” list so you don’t accidentally flare things up.
My practical aftercare tips: do the home exercises exactly as written, keep notes on what aggravates symptoms, and don’t “test” your injury with a big workout the same day unless I specifically cleared it.
People get the best results when they stick to the plan between sessions. That’s a consistent theme I hear, including the client who said, “Have to stick to the plan and do the work at home also.” It’s not about perfection. It’s about consistency.
And if you’re wondering how soon change can happen, I’ve had patients tell me they were feeling better after the first session and others who reported being back in the gym after about six weeks. Your timeline depends on the injury and your follow-through, but the follow up visit is where we keep the plan realistic and moving forward.
Boynton Beach follow ups: timing, traffic, storms, and telehealth questions
My office is in the Gateway Boulevard office and retail district in west Boynton Beach near I-95, which makes follow ups pretty easy to fit into your day. A lot of locals like that they can stop for a pharmacy run or coffee nearby after their appointment without adding another trip.
How long should you plan for?
Your follow up service is scheduled for 55 minutes. In general, a follow up appointment often takes 20 to 45 minutes in many rehabilitation centers, but I don’t like rushing the important parts. If I think you need extra time because something changed, I’ll tell you. If you’re booking around work, ask me for the best appointment length estimate when you schedule.
Telehealth: when it can work
If you’re traveling, dealing with Florida afternoon storms, or trying to avoid hurricane season disruptions, ask if your follow up can be telehealth. Some progress reviews, exercise form checks, and plan updates can be handled remotely. Hands-on work, movement testing, and certain checks need an in-person visit. I’ll tell you what is and isn’t possible so you can choose the right option.
Rescheduling in real life
Storms pop up fast here. If you’re coming from Delray Beach, Boca Raton, Lake Worth Beach, Lantana, or Hypoluxo, I recommend building in a small buffer, especially when Gateway Boulevard gets busy. If weather is pushing you into an unsafe drive, call or email and I’ll help you shift your time.
A few follow up “insider tips” that make the visit feel easy
If you’ve ever searched “rehabilitation center near me” and worried you’d be treated like a number, I get it. One reason people stay with us is the atmosphere. They mention feeling welcomed at the door, and they mention one-to-one attention. That matters when you’re already dealing with pain, poor sleep, or frustration from a slow recovery.
My advice: show up with two questions you want answered no matter what. Then tell me the one daily activity you miss most, like walking without a cane, getting up from a chair, or getting back on the court. It keeps the follow up focused on your life, not just a checklist.
If you’re also comparing options like sportsmedicine clinics, a healthy massage spa, or “dry needling near me, ” I’m happy to talk through what fits your goals. Sometimes rehabilitation is the missing piece. Sometimes you need a different tool. Either way, I won’t waste your time.
Ready for your follow up? Call +15612490053 or email rob@allprorehab.com. If you’re unsure if your visit should be in-person or telehealth, tell me what you’re working on and I’ll point you in the right direction.
